Ticking Down
A detective races the clock to find a missing woman before the truth gets buried for good.
2026 · Narrative Short
“We’re all running out of time. The trick is not to waste the little you’ve got waiting on a breeze that isn’t coming.”
In a nocturnal Los Angeles, Cotter, a private eye, has until dawn to run down the disappearance of Abigail Hurst. Gone three weeks, long enough for a body to stop being a person and start being a problem someone wants buried.
A tip leads him to a house off Beachwood, where a crime lord’s people are waiting and a ledger of names could bury half the city. What he finds isn’t a rescue but a reckoning. A neo-noir about time as the one adversary that never loses, and the cost of the people we keep waiting on.
